Phnom Penh

Overall Review:

Being in Phnom Penh just for a couple of hours was enough to see the main spots of the city. I had arrived around 5:30 am and after finding a tuk tuk headed to my hotel. At 9 am I was already done with my breakfast while also having a talk with my best friend in the US. Even though I just wanted to walk around the city as I did not have any itinerary one of the tuk tuk drivers offered to show me all the places for a very cheap price. So, I agreed which was actually good as I had the chance to see the whole city.

What I liked the most: the cafés by Riviera which reminded me Nice in the south of France.

What I disliked the most: the roads were in a very bad condition. Even the part next to the airport was full of stones and really uncomfortable.

General Tips:

Since the city is small and the roads are not great it is better to take a tuk for a half day as the driver will take you to the main places. And of course, just like in any other Asian place, do not forget to negotiate the price in advance.

To eat:

Since I have been in Siem Reap before travelling to Phnom Penh I had already tried some local food and was not really concerned by that. Instead I had a great pizza at one of riverside cafés which was just perfect. However, if you still want to try some local food, there are bunch of places where you can eat tasty and cheap food.

To spend:

Since there are not many place slo go, hence you will not need much money to spend but still if you want to go to all those places and have a good meal then probably you will have to spend 100 $ for a day (including hotel, 3 times meal, entertainment fees and tuk tuk tour).
