Overall Review:
Kuala Lumpur or KL is a megapolis which is another industrial jungle in Southeast Asia. Even after living in Beijing for more than a year I had to admit that this city was huge.
I stayed there for just a day and my impression of the city was that it is not really touristic and represents more interest for business purposes.
General Tips:
- The best transport between the city and the airport is the metro as it is cheap, comfortable and you can avoid the traffic jam which can be really big sometimes.
- The country is muslim and solo travellers are not so much welcomed (I was lucky as my friend joined me during my stay there).
- KL is a right city for shopping. If you consider yourself as a shopaholic then this is one of the cities you should visit
- If you want to see the Skybridge and Observation Deck in Petronas Towers you better book the tickets in advance as they might finish (as it was in my case unfortunately).
To see:
- Batu Caves. After climbing hundreds of stairs you find yourself in a huge cave where you can even see a Hindu temple. And the statue in front of the caves is called Lord Murugan which is the tallest one in the world.
- Petronas Twin Towers (tallest twin towers in the world). And btw you can even see them from the airplane.
To eat:
KL is great for many types of food. If you like Asian cuisine then you should definitely check out Malaysian food. As for me my fav local food was Chicken Rice.
To spend:
As the city grows fast the prices also increase considerably. For 1 day in Kuala Lumpur you will approximately need around 80 $ ( including accommodation, 3 times meal, public transportation and the entrance fee for Petronas tower; the metro ticket price not included).
Please note that the above mentioned amount of money is only estimated cost and your actual trip expenses might vary depending on your interests and choices.
